Working primarily with found footage and archival material, alchemy of old and new, Hinkel-Pevzner's practice explores the universality of emotion though the prism of personal experience. The original texts of her lyrical voiceovers are grounded in ongoing research into the depiction of time and place in prose, manipulating grammatical and narrative structures to describe the essence of a moment, an enduring present. Set against the edited visuals, the independent elements of sound and image intertwine to evoke a familiar yet unknown place and time.
